This year at Fossil Rim, by request, our usual three -day retreat has been extended to five. Participants can still attend for the three days as well (Friday through Sunday). There will be a special opportunity to participate in an all day Adventure Tour.
Fossil Rim, a wildlife center, in Glen Rose, Texas, is located in the northern highlands of the hill country (the Comanche Plateau) in North Central Texas, on lands that millions of years ago were covered by a great expanse of the ancient Comanche Sea. Over time, the sea receded and left a verdant countryside, still rich in fossilized impressions of early life.
Fossil Rim Wild Life Center is a 1700-acre not-for-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of endangered species and the preservation of their natural habitats. As one of the most renowned species survival facilities in the world, Fossil Rim is home to many endangered species and is a major participant in breeding programs for animals, such as the cheetah, red wolf and white rhino. This is the first facility of its kind to be accredited by the American Zoo and Aquarium Association, and is an active participant in the worldwide network of conservation organizations working to reverse the imminent threat to our planet's biodiversity and restore harmony between humankind and the richness of our natural surroundings.
It is on this exquisite expanse of land that we two leggeds, as stewards of the earth, will unravel, undo old patterns, discover intimately those places within the body that have been lying dormant awaiting our continued awakening. As we "tour" the geometry of our bodies and deconstruct its structure into smaller units of distinction, we will begin to awaken and reconnect to form new relationships with ourselves, and the world around us. As humans we are continually striving for unity and balance and the practice of yoga provides the opportunity to seek the experience of balance. We mirror our planet's plight and ask, what is in nature that balances itself? Why is our planet out of balance, why can't our human species form and create lasting relationship with others unlike us? It is here at Fossil Rim, on sacred land, that we will create sacred space to explore those same issues within ourselves. For you who are curious about the nature of the body, this retreat is an incredible opportunity to immerse yourself in these questions within the nature of nature's body. As our hearts open we come "home" to ourselves and as a community practicing together, we can become a microcosm of the larger ecosystems made up of animals, plants and landscapes. It is amidst all of this magnificence that we will delve into ourselves and glimpse our humanity, as part of a larger organism and so realize a profound connectedness with other forms of life.
There will be ample opportunity to "BE" with the animals and experience the land. We will have gourmet meals prepared for us and live in accommodations with the animals around us. We will have time to swim, walk and relax. Being on the land at Fossil Rim with the animals and High Hope, Krystyna's (steward of the land) home, is a blessing. There is a relaxation response that happens just being here, and as we delve deeper inside of ourselves, the landscape and its inhabitants becomes a framework for our journey within.

About Ginny Nadler
Practicing yoga for thirty years and teaching for 27, my personal journey to seek balance, unity and the sanctity inherent to all life is reflected in my teaching. To create balance we must "see" within, unwind, and unravel muscle over bone, layer by layer. The body is a reflection of nature's design. This sacred geometry, the architecture of our body in union with all of nature and our energetic light body, is a mystery. I am a guide providing the safe space to delve into those mysterious spaces within; to ask questions that will help you unravel and create space to "see" yourself in new ways; to create a new relationship with your body that will reawaken your life force and spirit, create new pathways for healing and reconnect you to your higher self.
I began my study of yoga in the Iyengar tradition and over the years began to unravel not only my muscles but my belief systems as well. Greatly influenced by renowned teachers, Mr. B.K.S. Iyengar, Angela Farmer, Victor Van Kooten, Kofi Busia, Felicity Green and Larry Hatlett, as well as journeying into the Andes with the Inca medicine people has deepened my personal journey. My intention is to support you in yours.

What Student's Say About Ginny's Teaching
"As an architect, I know that trying to force matter against its nature can result in major problems. Working through the grace of Ginny's transformative comprehension of yoga, I'm discovering the nature of physical matter, which is my body: muscles relax, bones align. The body's architecture is revealed, inwardly. After a class with Ginny, my bones feel free to dance-my lightness walks lightly on the earth. I like to identify with the body I see reflected in the mirror."
David Architect
"My neurosurgeon told me after surgery that because of a herniated disc, I would never be able to do forward bends. I had all but given up hope that yoga could manage my back pain. Within four months of practicing with Ginny my pain has been reduced immeasurably, and my forwards bends are now easy and perfect. A TMJ problem that had plagued me for years has completely disappeared."
Linda Private Yoga Student
"Yoga with Ginny is a facilitated self-massage."
