What is Core Body Wisdom?
|
Core Body Wisdom is a precise physiological- anatomical modeled approach, that provides access to the bodys innate muscular-skeletal core wisdom to put the pelvis in extension and stand in our bones, not on muscle that has become deformed over bone, not on muscle that has pulled, torqued, twisted and misshapen our bones leading to pain. So much of this pain has incurred with repetitive movement and strenuous workouts, with a pelvis out of alignment, often in yoga classes, especially in power yoga classes where movements are quick and there is no time for alignment, or in tennis and running, where we fall into one side and continue to shorten all the attachments on that side and overstretch the other, causing knee and hip pain, leading to knee and hip replacements (the boomer generation experienced over 400,000 hip replacements just last year) and spinal surgeries. Shoulder injuries, frozen shoulder, rotator cuff injuries and carpal tunnel syndrome are common complaints and we must bare witness as to how we hold this building up as we sit at computers for as many hours as we do. Can we continue to ask this body to perform all that we demand from a misaligned musculature that is dramatically pulling our bones out of alignment?
We create the experience of balance by awakening as to how out of balance and out of alignment we are. All of us two legged beings, from the first step we take as a child create imbalance; we favor one side. This awareness usually appears as we awaken as to how differently we carry ourselves on each side of the body. How is it that I move more freely in a yoga pose or can stretch on one side so deeply, only to have such a dramatic experience of limitation on the other? is a common lament. Muscles that have been misaligned over our feet and leg bones from early on in our life, gravitate to the knees and the muscles in the pelvic floor pulling and distorting the attachment sites between the legs, pelvis and spine in ways that the structure is no longer supported by our bones. Oftentimes, scoliosis in the base of the spine manifests higher up as we lean our building to one side. Hence, as we age our buildings balance is compromised and as we have all witnessed with elders using a cane or a walker the journey living in this lifetime building can provide deep challenges. By the time pain and sometimes injuries arrive, the historical pattern created in the musculature is so embedded that we become prisoners in our own body. As a result of living out of anatomical balance we not only create physical manifestations, we create emotional barriers to freedom. The heart area slowly compresses with our depressed posture, we cannot adequately breathe to feed this vessel which holds our light. Depression and lack of hope, resigning ourselves to a body that cannot change and one that lives in constant pain has a dramatic influence on our lifetime story.
Finding this place of imbalance is the first step
awakening
and then learning and incorporating the tools to create freedom of movement is the doorway to greater freedom, to letting go, to transformation.
Core Body Wisdom provides the guided map going deep within the core of the pelvic floor where imbalance that began with the first step we took as a child imprisons us in our physical story. This is our awakening moment. We awaken to a deep knowing of our misaligned anatomical structure and understand the creation of our structural story. Practitioners become informed participants in the creation of a healthy upright body with support. Muscle is unraveled over bone to create balance, standing in the bones on two legs. The results are freedom in movement, freedom and relief from pain, connecting with sacrum and pelvis to open areas that have been closed for years. The tools for transformation are provided, the doorways are opened and as we let go of the old, we transform into the truth of who we are. As old bindings unravel in the body, old belief systems binding us to habitual stories dissolve as well. We learn to stand in our bones, to stand in the earth, not collapsing our structure on the earth. The focus of this teaching is on the sacred geometry of the body through which space is created to open energetic pathways for healing.
Core body Wisdom is truly about what it means to stand on two legs; what it means to honor our presence here on the mother earth; what it means to live with grace and gratitude and an open heart; what it means to AWAKEN, TRANSFORM and BE the manifestation of the pure abundance of vibrant health. This work is about accessing your Core Body Wisdom and becoming your own advocate for well being.
